-

Cons from reviewers
-
Inability to truncate message trail in helpdesk: The helpdesk feature does not allow technicians to truncate the message trail when replying, leading to unnecessarily long conversations between the technician and the customer.
-
Limited reporting options: While the reporting feature is improving, it currently lacks sufficient options to customize reports to specific user preferences.
-
Occasional remote connection failures: Some users have reported instances where the remote connection feature fails, hindering their ability to assist customers remotely.
-
Slow and ineffective chat support: The only available support is via chat, which some users have found to be slow and sometimes ineffective in resolving their issues.
-
Basic features locked behind paywalls: Certain basic features are inaccessible unless users pay extra, which can be frustrating for those who need these features but are on a budget.

Happy I Made the Switch to Atera
I find Atera to be a smaller and newer RMM solution with nice people. I appreciate their pricing model which offers unlimited access for a single price, and the inclusion of a remote access solution, Splashtop. Although it lacks some features that my previous RMM solution had, they are constantly working on improvements. I prefer a company that is striving to improve over one that is tired and apathetic. My main complaint is that their support is only available via chat, which can be slow and sometimes ineffective. Overall, I'm glad I switched to Atera.

Two Steps Forward, One Step Back: A Review on Atera
I've been using Atera since its inception and while it's good, improvements often come at the expense of something else. I wish they would focus on improving the user interface, not for aesthetic changes, but for better workflow and ease of use. For instance, pasted text in ticket responses has a background color that is nearly invisible on most monitors. I've requested multiple times over the past five years for this to be addressed, either by removing the background color or making it more noticeable. This seems like a minor bug that could be easily fixed, but it remains unresolved. The accumulation of such annoyances has frustrated me to the point where I'm considering switching to a different product.

Atera: My Essential IT Multi-Tool for Daily Use
Indispensable. I've recommended Atera to my colleagues multiple times. I used to log into servers with Microsoft Remote Desktop, but now I use Splashtop installed through Atera for both servers and laptops. Before Atera, I used Teams to assist users with endpoint issues, which was data-consuming. With Atera, it's much more efficient. The best part is that I pay for an admin SEAT, not for the number of devices I manage. The tools are intuitive, the interface is clean. I manage over 50 Windows devices and servers from my MacBook Pro. Setting up and enrolling devices is simple. I still need to adjust my alert thresholds as I get too many for memory usage and storage use over 85%. I also need to configure audio properly for assisting end users through Splashtop. I chose Atera to manage our infrastructure in-house, which is very cost-effective. I switched to Atera to cut down on IT costs through a third-party.

Atera: Cloud-Based IT Management at its Best
I have been using Atera, a cloud-based IT management platform, for over a year and I am extremely satisfied with its features and performance. It allows me to monitor and manage multiple clients from a single dashboard and automate tasks like patching, backup, and reporting. Atera also has an integrated helpdesk system that works with email and chat, making customer communication and issue resolution easy. It's very affordable and scalable, charging per technician instead of per device, allowing me to add more devices without increasing the cost.

Atera: The Lifeline of Our MSP Business
My overall experience with Atera has been positive. I value the software and see great potential in it. It's straightforward to set up and comprehend, and it provides dependable patch management. It also incorporates third-party app deployment and patching, boasts robust scripting features, and facilitates easy remote access to clients. However, some basic features are locked behind paywalls, remote connections can occasionally fail, and it can sometimes be a bit sluggish. The SNMP monitoring also requires some improvement. I opted for Atera because it was simple to obtain a month-long trial without any limitations. Other alternatives like Datto and Ninja were too costly, and while Syncro was similar, I didn't appreciate its interface and workflow. Nsight presented us with problems during testing and we couldn't get it to function correctly. Atera was the most transparent in terms of pricing.
