Promo: Great for Basic Videos, Yet Room for Improvement
I don't use Promo-com as frequently as I once did because it hasn't developed in the way I need for my creative outcomes. It's somewhat frustrating, but I continue to use it as it enables me to quickly and easily produce custom videos of 10 - 30 seconds for my executive recruiting firm. We utilize these videos for every new job search, posting them on social media and our website.Promo-com is relatively user-friendly, even for those who aren't tech-savvy, and provides a broad variety of video clips and a fair selection of royalty-free music. I have full ownership of the final product and can do whatever I wish with it. The cost is reasonable.However, Promo-com initially allowed users to start with a blank template, but then they introduced their own templates that you're forced to use or get creative to customize. Their customer service hasn't been supportive in this aspect. Their in-house creative videos are mostly amateurish, with the exception of the exercise videos.

Questionable Billing Practices at Promo-Com
The company lowered their price by about 60% to align with the industry standard. However, they auto-renewed my subscription at the original full price. When I requested to cancel, they offered a "discount" which was essentially the amount they shouldn't have charged me initially. When I insisted on cancellation, they said it was "too late" and pointed me to their policy. I've decided not to engage with a company that operates in this manner. They may have retained my money, but I won't be utilizing their service. Their product and user-friendliness were comparable to others in the industry, but their customer service and business ethics were a letdown. In response, the vendor asked me to contact their support team via email and assured me that all monthly and annual plans could be cancelled from within the billing section of the website.

I have a problem not with the product itself, but with the customer service of Promo-com. I had purchased a one-year plan, but my business needs for videos changed unexpectedly. I contacted Promo to see if my annual plan could be paused or cancelled, as I hadn't used the platform for over six months. Unfortunately, a representative named Lana was unhelpful and simply referred me to the plan's terms. I understand the cancellation terms, but I believe that to maintain customer loyalty, exceptions can be made when the product is not being used month after month. Currently, I am waiting for my year to end so I can leave Promo and never return. I also want to note that there are many superior platforms, such as Synthesia, that offer more for less money.

It's simple to alter the video format to suit different platforms and to download the video once it's finished. The customer service team is always on hand to answer queries. New features and functionalities are regularly added. I haven't found anything about this software that I don't like. Whenever I think of a feature that would be useful, it soon becomes available. I believe they genuinely listen to their customers' feedback and requests.
