Exploring Zoom as a Complimentary User: Pros, Cons, and Suggestions
Overall, I'm quite satisfied with Zoom Video Webinars, but I wish they would extend or remove the 40-minute limit for free users. I'd also like to see some new features introduced, perhaps exclusively for paid users. I find Zoom incredibly convenient for connecting with my students and mentors anytime, anywhere. I particularly enjoy features like the virtual background, filters, and low light adjustments which enhance my on-camera appearance. I appreciate the ability to integrate Zoom with Facebook Live, allowing me to broadcast simultaneously on both platforms. However, I find the lack of a screenshot feature frustrating. I often want to capture our sessions, but currently, I have to use my keyboard to do so. I chose Zoom Events and Webinar primarily for its ease of use, which I find superior to other platforms. I love being able to see my participants and their reactions while I'm presenting. However, I find Zoom quite expensive for individual users like myself, seeming to cater more to corporations purchasing.

The platform's calendar integrations can be glitchy, and the 'go live' function is subpar, necessitating additional software. The cost for privacy in webinars is high, and the platform can be slow. The settings are complex, and the recording feature is problematic. I prefer all recordings to be saved to the cloud for easy client sharing, but this often defaults to saving to the local device.

My overall experience with Zoom Video Webinars has been positive. I can easily share my screen with a large audience, create polls and surveys to engage with them, and gather feedback during the webinar. I can effortlessly set up online workshops and seminars for a large audience. I appreciate the option to have one or more hosts controlling the session, and the ability to record the entire session. Attendees can ask questions through the Q&A feature. However, I find the storage capacity for recorded webinars is limited depending on the plan, so I sometimes need to manage and delete recordings to free up space.

Zoom: The Preferred Choice for a Reason
Like many others, I began using Zoom video conferencing, meetings, and webinars extensively in 2020 due to the pandemic's limitations on in-person meetings. I found Zoom to be one of the best, simplest, and most cost-effective tools for online meetings. It provides numerous tools for collaborative work, even when everyone is not in the same room. Despite the many video conferencing software options, Zoom, as one of the originals, remains one of the best for its price. However, I wish there were more options for free Zoom meetings, including longer meeting times, to stay competitive with Google and other similar services. I initially chose Zoom because everyone else was using it, but now I appreciate its ease of use and it has become my preferred choice. Even though we still use other platforms, I honestly prefer Zoom for 90% of our needs.

I find Zoom to be an excellent and user-friendly tool for organizing meetings. It's suitable for businesses of all sizes, providing various plans based on team size and necessary features. I can effortlessly set up a new meeting from Zoom's main screen and invite people from my contacts to join. I also have the option to schedule meetings for a future date and time, and even choose the time zone, which is helpful when coordinating with participants from different countries. Zoom can automatically generate a meeting ID, or I can use my own for all meetings with the same participants. I particularly value the feature that allows Zoom to automatically record the meeting on my local computer, which also records it for all other participants on the cloud. They can then download it to their computer if needed. However, I believe there are areas for improvement. The interface is quite dull and the white background can be straining on the eyes during long meetings. I would appreciate an option to change the theme or at least have a dark mode.
