Exploring the Efficiency of SAP HANA Cloud

In my view, SAP ERP HANA Cloud has proven to be a valuable asset for our company. The speed at which data is loaded into the warehouse is faster with HANA Cloud than with other tools. The standout feature of this software is its cloud-based nature, which has significantly cut our maintenance costs. The speed of data extraction for reporting is also noteworthy. However, it does seem a bit pricey when compared to competitor tools like Azure or Snowflake. We opted for SAP HANA Cloud because our company was already using other SAP applications. The primary reason for our switch to SAP HANA Cloud was our wish to move from an on-premise tool to a cloud-based one.

User Experience: Navigating SAP ERP HANA Cloud

I find SAP ERP HANA Cloud to be frustrating and slow to learn. If I don't use it regularly, it's easy to forget how to operate it. While the reporting functionality appears powerful, it's challenging to input quality data for reporting. I haven't encountered a single screen, whether it's for purchasing, time sheeting, or project management (EPPM), that can be navigated or used without specialized training. The software is completely unintuitive, with standard OK or Cancel buttons appearing randomly, no limits to the size of drop boxes, and the use of obscure acronyms and complex numbering systems. The alphanumeric codes often have multiple zeros in the middle and vary in length. I switched to SAP HANA Cloud in hopes of upgrading to modern database systems.

SAP Hana: A Robust Tool for Seamless Data Integration

SAP Hana allows me to dive deep into data and access individual transactions for detailed insights. It integrates with Tableau and Excel, helping me create visualizations to convey narratives to leadership and decision-makers. I value its easy interfacing with these applications, as we deal with hundreds of thousands of data lines, making it essential to connect with other applications. However, the connection between SAP Hana and our other applications can sometimes become unstable, causing downtime. We transitioned to SAP HANA Cloud as we sought a unified solution for our divisions that were using both Oracle and SAP. Our leadership believed SAP was the superior choice.

SAP: The World's Most Powerful ERP, Advancing with HANA

SAP has always been adept at meeting my company's needs with its ERP. Its comprehensive configurations, Z programs, and setups offer a broad range of possibilities. We transitioned to HANA mainly to take advantage of its new database and cloud option. With SAP HANA, we're moving towards our company's future, stepping away from the previous version, SAP ECC. This new system has demonstrated improvements, particularly in reporting. Due to all fields being indexed, extracting information and running reports are significantly quicker. Also, some security fixes have addressed issues with roles and objects we previously encountered. However, I'm still trying to comprehend the logic behind the Business Partner transaction "BP". Merging customers, suppliers, employees, contacts, etc., into one single transaction has made things more complex for us, but I guess it's just a matter of adapting to it.
