Egnyte: A Review of Their Secure and Consistent Service

I've been a loyal customer of Egnyte for many years, dating back to when they were just starting out. Their service has evolved significantly over time. During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, we faced a slight delay in our revenue transfer and requested an 18-day extension to pay a bill. Despite our consistent history of prompt payments, they adhered to their policies, which I respect as a business owner myself. Recently, we decided to upgrade our service and received a $25 bill. Unfortunately, due to an unforeseen circumstance of a stolen credit card, the payment was delayed. Egnyte has a unique approach to billing, where they don't allow customers to update their billing information online. This is a security measure that I appreciate, even though it can be a bit inconvenient at times. We reached out to them multiple times and were directed to their voicemail and FAQs. When we finally got a response, the representative guided us to email their billing department. This process took a few days, but it was a learning experience for us. It showed us that Egnyte takes security seriously and doesn't rush through processes. Egnyte has a different approach to customer service, focusing more on security and adherence to policies. They may not always be the most convenient, but they are consistent and reliable. I appreciate their commitment to maintaining a secure platform for businesses. I would highly recommend Egnyte to any business that values security and consistency.

      Excellent for Distributed Teams

So far, I am extremely satisfied with Egnyte. It's ideal for remote or distributed teams and provides excellent value for money compared to alternatives like Dropbox and Box. I transitioned to Egnyte from a local NAS file server and now I regret not doing it sooner. Egnyte is perfect for us, it's like carrying our entire file server wherever we go, provided we have internet access. This is incredibly convenient, particularly with the Desktop connect feature. I would have joined a few years ago, but they didn't offer the Team plan then. Now that they do, it's excellent for smaller businesses or teams. I no longer have to stress about local or physical threats to our file server, as everything is stored in the cloud. I'm very pleased with it so far. During my trial, I encountered some problems with uploading via FTP and didn't get a response from support or sales. However, once I contacted them through another channel, things improved.

Cloud Services Enhance with Egnyte, Yet Caution Advised

The online file services of Egnyte are getting better, but their customer service has been awful since late 221. I've had to deal with constantly changing representatives, with a turnover rate of three times in six months. They struggle to keep track of our conversations and demand written documentation from me, even though they insist on assisting me through video chat or Zoom. It seems like they're going through a messy growth phase, so I'm proceeding with caution.

Journeying Through Egnyte: A User's Perspective

I use Egnyte for sharing, accessing, and uploading/downloading files both within and outside my office. While it serves its purpose on some days, I personally find it less seamless than other platforms. I do appreciate its cloud-based nature and mobile sharing capabilities, which simplify sharing files across different office locations. However, I don't consider it the best content sharing platform I've used. It struggles to integrate well with Google and can sometimes be confusing to use. The vendor has responded to my feedback, stating that they are constantly updating and improving their integrations, including with Google's suite of products. They also provided links to the latest benefits, features, and enhancements of their G Suite integration, as well as additional training on their apps and integrations at Egnyte University.

Egnyte: Dependable, User-Friendly Cloud Storage with Minor Hiccups

Overall, I would recommend Egnyte to other small business owners as a dependable and easy-to-use cloud storage solution, despite some shortcomings. I've been using Egnyte for my small business for the past half a year and have found it simple to navigate, with the capability to store and access my files from anywhere. I value its integration with other business tools like Google Drive and Microsoft Office, and I've synced all my devices to it for a more streamlined workflow. However, I've run into a few problems. The cost can be high for small businesses, particularly for large data storage. The search function could be better as it's been inconsistent at times. Customer service could be more prompt, and there have been moments of platform downtime, which can be annoying.
