However, the pricing is a bit high and the inability to schedule integrating segment runs earlier than four hours has posed some problems. I chose Act-On because I needed a comprehensive social media and automation tool. It was highly recommended and after a test drive, its ease of use and functionality proved itself.

Act-On: A Tale of Overpromises and Underdeliveries
Overall, I would give Act-On a low pass. My experience was tainted by issues with customer service, slightly high pricing, and lack of proper development. If I had the chance to go back, I would have chosen HubSpot or Marketo. Currently, after using Act-On for 3-4 years, we have cancelled our account and are now using a stack of SaaS solutions tied into our practice management system. This is more cost-efficient, user-friendly, and offers better customer service. I would advise businesses considering Act-On due to the price of competitors to use a stack approach instead. Using Vision6/Campaign Monitor/MailChimp in tandem with a better landing page provider (Unbounce, Instapage) linked to a CRM would be a better choice. I would particularly warn against Act-On due to their poor service, especially for Australian-based customers. The system was easy to use and the set-up process for lead nurturing, forms, creating newsletters, and other tools were useful. However, the negatives outweighed the positives.
